Brunch at Rosolini is served on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 AM at 86 The Promenade in Edgewater, NJ. The brunch menu runs until 4 PM, when dinner begins, and it is built the way the rest of the kitchen works: homemade bread and focaccia, Italian eggs, and lunch-size portions of the dishes people come back for at dinner.
Colazione: breakfast, the Italian way
The breakfast section of the menu starts with a Breakfast Pizza: bacon, eggs, mozzarella and parmesan, finished with extra virgin olive oil and chive. For something sweeter there is Brûléed Pane Francese, French toast on thick-sliced focaccia with berries, maple syrup and whipped cream.
The egg dishes lean Italian:
- Uova al Purgatorio: eggs baked in the kitchen's spicy tomato sauce, with homemade bread.
- Uova Benedicto: Italian-style eggs Benedict with prosciutto di Parma and hollandaise on brioche.
- Strapazzata: an Italian scramble with mozzarella, tomato, garlic and basil, served with a baby arugula salad.
- Frittata: a farm-fresh egg omelet in three versions (spinach, mozzarella and parmigiano; mushroom, onion and mozzarella; or prosciutto and mozzarella).
There is also Pane all'Avocado, homemade bread toasted with the house avocado spread.
Con Pane: burgers and panini
Everything in this section comes on bread made in the Rosolini kitchen. The Buongiorno Burger is the big one: a veal and beef patty with mortadella, fresh mozzarella, pesto and a runny egg on a homemade bun. The panini are on homemade focaccia, from Il Padrino (prosciutto di Parma, fresh mozzarella, arugula, balsamic) to a Burrata Caprese Panino and Pollo Parmigiana.
Pranzo: lunch until 4 PM
Brunch days also carry the lunch specials, dine-in only until 4 PM. Metà e Metà pairs any half panino with a cup of soup or a small house salad, and Pasta Piccola is a lunch portion of a favorite pasta with a small salad: Penne Arrabbiata alla Checca, Pappardelle alla Bolognese, Fettuccine Alfredo or Spicy Rigatoni. Veal and chicken cotoletta come in lunch portions too, Francese, Marsala, Piccata or Parmigiano.
